2016 January to March
During this part of the construction, which was mainly preparatory, over 11,000 cement blocks were formed with a block maker that we purchased. The blocks were formed over the first three months of 2016, about 300 per day by five or six workers. Also during this time, rebar was acquired for the future pillars, choir loft, stairs, beams, and concrete lintels. A concrete mixer was purchased and fixed up to be able to handle the workload. The engine it came with was too weak and a new engine had to be fixed upon it. Many other tools, like a vibrator for the pillars to ensure even pouring, table saws, wheelbarrows, headpans, tape measures, etc, were purchased at this time. The rainy season then came and halted construction until September and October when it was resumed.
