The Church Construction continues as over 2,500 blocks have been made so far.  Visit the Farm site, which can be found on the left side of the page, to see updated pictures of the healthier looking Farm.  The boys set up an outdoor chicken pen for our layers who should begin to lay eggs sometime in February.  We had a wedding on January 30th of two of our parishioners who were both prominent in leading their respective groups, the Holy Helpers for the unmarried men, and the St. Maria Goretti Guild for the young women.  Classes for 1st Communion began on Sexagesima.  Also pictured below is Fr. Angelo blessing the children of the parish after Mass and the first birthday party for little JoAnnem, a daughter of one of our parishioners.

January 16th

Ephiphany has come and gone and around 100 homes were given the Ephinany blessing with the marking of the door with the chalk invoking the three wise men, Saints Casper, Melchior and Balthasar.  When seeing the FSSP truck coming down the road, the local children would gather round for the blessing and singing of the carol, "We Three Kings".  Caroling has stopped this year, but many more of the people have requested that we must visit their compounds next year.  Work on the Church is under way as around 300 cement blocks are made everyday and will continue to be made until we have reached the 12,000 needed for the completion of the Church.  The students have returned from Christmas break and will resume school starting Monday.  The pigs, chickens (another 100 new chicks for a total of about 300 again), and turkeys continue to grow, the garden is struggling a bit under the instense heat at temperatures rise along with some humidity.  It won't be until May that we see the rain.  A GoFundMe page has been started to help with  the construction at https://www.gofundme.com/fsspnigeria.
